R2/9- ANOTHER PONZI

He is currently at a very short price but looks like he should be very hard to beat resuming here today. He has been trialling strongly prior to this and the blinkers go on here today which suggests he is ready to go. If you can get odds close to the $2 he looks a hard runner to go past.

R5/4 - VERZENAY

Makes her debut for the David Jolly stable here today after arriving from NSW. She trialled really well recently at Murray Bridge where she went forward and worked nicely through the line. If she goes forward here you would expect her to be in a strong position in running. Jolly has a good record when he brings tried runners to his set up at Goolwa and the market has strong support for her which is a big positive.

R6/2- POMPEII EMPIRE (BEST OF THE DAY)

He has run 2 good races here at the track this prep including a last start win in impressive fashion to break his maiden. He has to step up in grade now today, but the form he is in and the way in which he won last start suggests he will handle the step up. He clocked the fastest last 400m & 200m sectionals for the meeting last start and maps for a soft run here again which suggests he is well placed.

R7/1- CLUB PUNTER (EW/VALUE OF DAY)

This is the easiest race he has competed in for a while now. Last start out he competed in the Listed Nitschke Stakes, while he did finish down the field, he ran ok but found the competition too sharp. Back to BM56 level here today is much better suited, expecting he can find a prominent leading position in running and this is a track he was won at previously. Looks a strong EW hope given his race map.
