R1/1 - AMBELLO 🥉

Has had plenty of chances so far in his career, but his last 2 starts have definitely been his 2 career best runs. He was very well supported at Mt Gambier running 2nd and in his last start, he ran 3rd in a maiden race that rated really highly. He maps to get run of the race from barrier 4 and the states leading jockey in Jake Toeroek takes the ride, it all points to a strong showing and the apparent danger to him looks to be his stable mate in SIOUX WARRIOR.

R5/4 - ITALIAN REDWOOD (BEST OF DAY) ❌

This isn’t an overly strong race with a lot of rough form in it, but ITALIAN REDWOOD’s recent record definitely stands out. He was a winner here at Balaklava 3 starts back over the same track/trip and did that in quite easy fashion by 2L. He has since competed up in grade and running 3L behind the likes of DOES IT & SOAMES. He is back down in grade today and again maps well to be pushed forwards and prominent, ITALIAN REDWOODS recent efforts have been a few lengths faster than his rivals here today so if he can maintain that level, he will take catching.

R7/5 - SANTASTICO (EW/VALUE OF DAY) 🥇

Resumed this prep with a win before running 4th in his 2nd up at Morphettville as a well supported favourite. In those 2 runs, he has shown that the key to him is getting onto a GOOD track and he will definitely get that again here. He will jump from barrier 3 and maps to be forwards in the running in a strong position. Last meeting here the track had a bias towards leaders on rails and that’s the position SANTASTICO should find himself. Similar conditions are expected today so he should get run of the race.
