R2/6 - POMPEII EMPIRE (BEST OF DAY)

Ran 2nd here a fortnight ago behind a runner who looks a good type. He was impressive through the run considering he was caught wide the trip and made to do a lot of extra work. He draws a much better barrier here today, expect him to be finishing this off strongly with a more economical run

R4/3 - BASE OF FIRE

Comes into this race off the back of a 2nd placing in a maiden level race that has produced some good form lines for this level. He went to the line with the winner only being grabbed late but there was also a big gap to 3rd. His last 2 runs for 2nd have been particularly impressive considering he was made to do extra work from bad barriers. He has drawn inside here now and should get a much better run up on the speed in an ideal position.

R8/3- PRINCE JOFRA (EW/VALUE OF THE DAY)

Was a winner last start at Oakbank in a race that rates higher than what he is competing in today. He has a big weight even after the apprentice claim, but is 3rd up now and rising in distance which is a suitable set up for him. This race maps to have a lot of speed on, not dissimilar to the Oakbank run, so he should be able to find a comfortable position in running just off this fast speed and gets a long run in to chase the leaders down.
