Ran 2nd when resuming last start behind a well supported favourite in a stronger maiden at Morphettville on Melbourne Cup Day, this is now an easier level maiden today. He showed good early speed from barrier 2 in that race and gets a chance to find a similar position today from the same barrier. Last start he went to the line with the runner CARE TOO MUCH who he meets again today, but he has a clear map advantage against that runner today so expect NEVER SURRENDER to land in a strong position and be in the right part of the track.

R4/1- FLEURIEU FLIPPER (BEST OF DAY)

Was a winner here 3 starts ago in a very similar race set up to what he finds himself in again today over the 1600m and with 61.5Kg on his back. He will jump from barrier 4 and he likes to lead so expecting he gets a soft run in the right position and if he gets his own way out in front and expecting the track will likely favour runners on the speed. He will be hard to reel in if those conditions do suit.

R7/6- LANCELOTTO

LANCELOTTO has run 3rd 3 times in a row now and is knocking down the door to win one. This is a slight drop down in grade today from Metro level races back to the provincials which should help him. He is drawn a little bit sticky in barrier 9, but has good early speed and out of the 1200m chute, he has plenty of time to find a position. The form that has come out of his last few starts are good form lines to bring into a race at this grade.
