R4/2- BASE OF FIRE

Makes his debut for a new stable here today. He recent won a trial at Gawler for the new stable and does come into this race with fitness having had 3 runs through October. He does need to improve from those runs in October as they were a little average, but he looked fresh in the trial win. He will also settle forwards in the running which should give him a chance, he gets in well in the weights and will likely settle in an ideal position, should be every chance.

R5/2- POINTLESS PRAISE (BEST OF DAY)

POINTLESS PRAISE has been very well supported in his 4 runs this prep but has only managed 1 win from those. What he showed in his last run at Strathalbyn, was that he is going to appreciate rising in trip again given he produced the fastest closing sectionals of the race. He rises up to 2200m and looks well suited here with a senior jockey on board.

R7/4- PLAISIR (VALUE OF DAY)

PLAISIR has been around for a long time but is a very honest type. He ran OK 1st up and will defiantly improve getting out over more ground later in his prep, but he has both run well over this trip previously and 2nd up previously also. He is going to likely be racing up on the speed and has won twice here at the track previously (4:2-0-1). While he has improvement to come, he should be in the right position in running and can give this a shake at a price.
