R4/2- SALTAIRE
SALTAIRE has looked close to a win in her past 2 runs finishing 2nd both times, flashing impressively late. The wider barrier isn’t a big concern out of the chute start and she actually maps really well. A pair of the races speed influences are drawn outside of her, so they will look to cross and she can likely track one of those runners throughout and then peel off in the middle of the straight and run over the top. Up to the 1200m trip today is ideal.
R6/1- ARKANSAW KID
Was a good winner here 2 starts back before he came out in The Coolmore and run a very good 4th in a sharp field. He goes up to the 1400m now and that looks an ideal move as does the booking of Damien Oliver. The two have run together previously with an impressively successful record (3:2-0-0)
R8/15- CROSSHAVEN (EW/VALUE OF DAY)
2nd up here today after he finished 2nd behind SPACEWALK on Derby Day. In that race, CROSSHAVEN clicked off the fastest L400 & L200 of the meeting to loose by a head. The form out of that race was franked Oaks day with NAJEEM SUHAIL winning down the straight. CROSSHAVEN is up to the 1400m here now, which really suits and especially at Caulfield where he has a 6:2-0-1 record track/trip. He should get a good run from barrier 5 and with the right run looks a strong EW play.
R10/2- SHE DANCES (BEST OF DAY)
SHE DANCES is in impressive form having won her last 2 starts both in nice fashion. She comes back to mares grade today so this is a slightly easier race for her and the conditions will suit. Her record over the 1200m is super (7:6-1-0) and she will be prominent in the running as she generally looks to lead.
