R6/10- AMENABLE (BEST OF DAY)

  • AMENABLE comes into this race 3rd up today after 2 very good runs to kick off this prep. 1st up he was a winner over this same track/distance and beat the likes of DEVOTED & CARINI who have both won since franking the form. He has then run a big 5th in the Memsie Stakes, reeling off some of the fastest closing splits of the day, this is a much easier race than that the last start.

R7/3- STEPARTY

  • Undefeated from 4 career runs to date. He was resuming from a spell last start at The Valley and won there in hugely impressive fashion. To the eye it looked like he could improve, and his figures show he was a big improver 2nd up in his last prep. Up to the 1400m trip also makes that look ideal. Not to concerned about the wider barrier as he has the speed to be able to find a position better than midfield and it gives him the ability to find the middle of the straight which may be the better ground Saturday.

R9/2- ALLIGATOR BLOOD

  • On the quick back up today after he was 2nd behind MR BRIGHTSIDE last weekend in the Makybe Diva Stakes. While it may have looked disappointing, the stats say he has still run that race out in an impressive time as well. He goes around here in The Underwood Stakes which he was a winner of last year, so getting the trip shouldnt be an issue for him. One of key advantages here today is his fitness, he has a fitness edge on majority of this field and with his early speed, he may be able to put a few of the resuming stayers to the sword early with a hot tempo.

R10/4- MIDWEST

  • 2nd up here today after he was 2nd behind ASFOORA in a race that rated highly and that form line is strong. This should be an easier race for him today. He has a good record here at Caulfield and is a winner over this trip. Comes in well at the weights after Wiremu Pinn takes off 2kgs and gets the gun on speed run from barrier 3.
