R4/2- TOSEN WATER (BEST OF DAY)
A lightly raced mare who is dropping in grade today coming out of a metro grade race and back to the provincials. She faded late last start when resuming so 2nd up today with the additional fitness today should help. She maps for a good run up on the speed from barrier 4 and Nichola Yuen takes the ride and her recent form has been super. TOSEN WATER looks a strong chance with a lot in her favour here today.
R6/3- EXOPIPI **SCRATCHED**
Boasts a good record here at the track (4:1-1-2) and the win here 3 starts back was very impressive. Since that win, she has gone to Saturday racing at Morphettville and has been competitive in those stronger grades. She drops in class today and gets ideal conditions. The wide barrier not a huge concern as she will likely settle in the back half of the field any way and doing her best work late.
R7/1- SIR KINGSFORD (VALUE OF DAY)
Looks a horse with a lot of potential as a stayer, during the SA Group 1 carnival, he contested Group & Listed races against runners who went on to win Derby’s & Oaks races. After those runs he went to Bordertown for an easy kill before a spell. He is now 2nd up into this prep and the 1st up run is forgivable as the Balaklava track that day was a very leaders bias track and not suited for SIR KINGSFORD. He is now 2nd up and dropping in grade, if he gets it right today he has the talent to win, but still one to follow as he gets deeper into the prep and over more ground.
