Gawler Best Bets

R3/1- BELMONT AVENUE (BEST OF DAY) πŸ₯‡

  • Looks to have a lot in his favour today which should make him hard to beat. His first 2 runs this prep have been solid but now 3rd up and fitter, he steps up to a staying trip which he should be really suited to. He has drawn barrier 2 and has good early speed so expect he can control the tempo of this race from the front and on his home track should be hard to get past.

R4/5- WILLASTON πŸ₯‡

  • Dropping back in grade to a provincial level race having run well at metro level in his last 2 runs. Those last 2 runs he has chased in form winner PORTATION and has only been a few lengths behind him. That’s a strong form line to bring into this mid week race. He is drawn barrier 1 and should be up on the speed, coming back to the 1100m will suit as well.

R7/4- SIR LEAPALOT **SCRATCHED**

  • Was first past the post in his last run at Morphettville but ended up loosing that race on protest. He drops back in grade here today which will suit and has a favourable race map given he will want to be up on the speed and can easily get that run from barrier 3 and with a 3kg claim coming off his back thanks to Rochelle Milne’s claim. He should get a soft run and is in good form.
