Maps to put himself into the race with an on speed run. He is super tough so will be finishing this race off last and will take some catching. Likes the Moonee Valley track boasting a 4-2-0-0 record here.

R4/10- YOWIE

This race maps to be run at a rapid tempo. Like lightly raced YOWIE to be able to sweep them all up late here. He has been trialling nicely prior to resuming, and in his other 2 career runs has showed he can race on speed or go back. Feel if he takes a sit just off the speed, he gets his chance to run them down late. Just can’t afford to be too far back in the run.

R5/3- TAUNTING

Highly talented horse who may be about to take the next step up coming across the border in stronger races. He won his first 2 starts in Adelaide with ease, then ran 3rd at listed level. That’s good form for this. He is drawn barrier 3, has options but will like to see him sitting just off the leaders and running over them late.

R7/5- PAULELE

Flashed home late here when going around 2 starts back. Felt he got far to back in the run that day, but should be better for having had that experience. Expecting McDonald won’t end up behind 3 runners on the rail again and from barrier 6 he will give himself some more space. He showed last start when winning that he is hard to hold out when he finds clear running.
