Conditions - Soft

Race 1

1- HOPE AT HAND

5- GREY RIVER

4- BABY ALEX

HOPE AT HAND should find this easier than her other 2 runs this prep, she was 2nd to the inform Taunting 1st up and then went to a Caulfield and tackled a much harder race. 3rd up here and should be peaking in fitness. GREY RIVER won her maiden when resuming, she came out of some good 2yo races in her 1st prep, could go on with it in this. BABY ALEX won well on debut and then was 2nd next when we’ll supported, draws to get a favourable on speed run in this.

Race 2

5- THE MAP

4- EXALTED RUTH

2- ICHIBANSAN

THE MAP backs up this weekend, rising again in distance is only going to suit. This is a sharp race against some older horses, but if she can find the talent she showed last prep, she should be up to this. EXALTHED RUTH is super fit and has been in strong form this prep. She has a super (5:2-1-1) record over this track/distance. ICHIBANASAN has been 2nd in his last 2 over the track and distance. Just needs a soft run up front and he might prove hard to catch.

Race 3

12- IMBIBE

13- KILLIAKO

10- SOLAR BLAST

IMBIBE debuted in a sharp level race and was spelled straight away after that. When she resumed, she only went down by half a head and was well supported in the market. Think the talent is there and she should find a commanding position at the front of the field. KILLIAKO profiles similar to IMBIBE debuting in a strong race and then improving when 2nd up. Maps for a soft run, she will be around the mark. SOLAR BLAST has placed in 3/4 career runs. Only run he disappointed in, he was out over the 1400m. If there is a hot tempo up the front from the leaders, it sets him up nicely to swoop over the top.

Race 4

1- NEODIUM

4- RESIDUE

6- MARACOURT

NEODIUM was a good last start winner over this same track/distance. He likes the parks track, is a 3rd up winner and rates highly in this field. He should be hard to beat in this. RESUDUE rises in distance which will suit. He should improve off the 1st up run now having the extra fitness. MARACOURT is a backmarker, so will need luck late, but he has an explosive turn of foot late. If he find clear space late he will be finishing this off strongest.

Race 5

11- PARISIENNE MONDE

2- TUPOLEU

4- EAST INDIAMAN

Tricky race this one. Putting PARISIENNE MONDE on top here now she is 3rd up into the prep. She is only lightly raced but she has shown to improve the fitter she gets and her only career win was 3rd up. She is drawn barrier 1 and the race tempo looks slow, so expect that gives her a chance to be more forward here and in a nice position late. TUPOLEU will find this an easier level race than what he has faced in his last few and has a good record here on the parks track which may help him be a big improver. EAST INDIAMAN was a handy last winner. He goes well here at the track. The 1400m should suit him but would just prefer to see him on a dryer track. If conditions improve he goes on top.

Race 6

3- GARGANTUAN

2- BEAGLE

8- PUDDING

GARGANTUAN will have to step up in grade for this after winning his maiden, but he maps for run of the race up on the speed here which will find him every chance. Alana Kelly is in good form here in SA and if he gets a soft run he will take catching. BEAGLE is  another last start winner. He is from a strong stable and has consistent record so far. PUDDING resumes here today. Has been trialling well leading into this race and was competitive against strong competition last prep. He looks a good type but we haven’t seen how he handles a wet track yet.

Race 7

10- DARING MOVE

7- TAUNTING

6- CHAMPAGNE DREAMS

This is a super race, hard to pick due to the amount of talent in this but am happy to settle on DARING MOVE who is looking for 3 wins in a row now. She has been super consistent early in her career winning 4/6 starts. She has a super record here track/distance (4:3-0-1) and maps to land perfectly on the speed. She will also meet the race fave 3.5kg better at weights. TAUNTING drops in grade, he has been super this prep having won 2 in a row before placing at listed level. This is easier competition, but have a concern that from the wide barrier he might get posted out wide and have too much to do. CHAMPAGNE DREAMS resumes today after competing at Group 1 level last prep. She is undefeated from 2 other 1st up runs in her career.

Race 8

1- CALLA DREAM (BEST OF THE DAY)

13- ROCKSTAR MEGGSY

4- CHOSEN BLONDE

This race has been affected by a few scratchings, but that has just seemed to open the race up for the consistent CALLA DREAM. She has been super consistent this prep having won 3 of her past 5 and last start 2nd at Listed level. Undefeated at this track/distance, gets and apprentice claim and inside barrier. Will be hard to hold out. ROCKSTAR MEGGSY was a last start winner here in a similar grade race. She is also undefeated here at this track/distance. Will need lucky from a wide barrier. CHOSEN BLONDE rises in grade but was an impressive last start winner. She pushed forwards and run away with the race in testing conditions last start. If she gets across from the wide barrie she is a chance to do something similar again here.

Race 9

5- YULONG JUSTIFY

2- HOPON HARRY

8- PHOENIX GLOBAL

This is an open race to finish todays card. YULONG JUSTIFY maps to get the run of the race from barrier 3 and with an apprentice claim he should be finishing this off strongly. Expecting improvent 2nd up today. Really like HOP ON HARRY as a horse, but I’m more keen to follow her after this race when she gets out to a longer trip. She has won at Victorian metro grade so her best is good enough though. PHOENIX GLOBAL will be hoping for rain. He has a super record on a heavy track and if there is rain around or the track is in a chopped up condition, it will suit him perfectly.
