Super open race to start here today with not a lot separating these. ALLEBOOM should be peaking here today, he usually takes a few runs to get his fitness base and is 4th up today, back on the Morphettville Parks track today which suits him a lot better than Murray Bridge where he has been. GREAT LEVELLER has an impressive 2nd up record (4:3-0-1) and he goes well on a soft track, he might get a perfectly set up run if the leaders go too hard. SEVENTH SEAL makes a big trip across the border. If conditions stay in the high soft to heavy range, he has great form in the wet and will be well suited.

2- CHASE ON THE CASE
1- HYPERCANE
3- BOLT BY
CHASE ON THE CASE has been competing in this grade strongly back in Victoria this prep and could transfer that form here. He could get a soft run on the speed which is suite at this track and if he handles the distance, may be hard to catch. HYPERCANE is dropping down in grade from recent runs. He is 3rd up today and has won 2/4 3rd up starts. Should improve here. BOLT BY is the current race fave, looks a big chance but a query for me is the drop back down in distance and if that will suit.
Race 3
11- KONG
1- TRITON RISING
3- IMPOSSIBLE ACTION
KONG has been close up in both run this prep, 2nd in a similar type race to this 2 weeks ago. He had to deal with a wide barrier that day so should get an easier run here from barrier 5. TRITON RISING is a resuming runner coming off the back of a recent trial win. He draws a soft barrier and may get a soft run and has won 1st up previously. The race doesn’t seem to have many runners with early speed apart from IMPOSSIBLE ACTION. The Morphettville Parks track can favour leaders so that may give him a chance.

1- MELODY MAN
WRITE THE SCORE resumes today, she did most of her best career work through her last prep and she usually runs well when 1st up but this is her pet distance. She won over the 1400m 2nd up last prep, so if she is ready she represents good value. SO SAY ANGEL has been super consistent of late and produced a well deserved win in her last start, stepping up in grade again here. MELODY MAN also resumes, he has previously won well when fresh and will be well suited to the expected soft track.
Race 5
4- JOYRIDER ***SCRATCHED***
7- BIRDIES GALORE
1- TEST THE LAW
JOYRIDER was good when on debut only finding one a bit too sharp but he should take some solid improvement out of that 1st up run. He is bred well and looks a type that could be handy going forwards. BIRDIES GALORE is undefeated to date including a recent win here at the track. Will look to push forwards which may be and advantage on this track but how much she needs rondo to find position from the wide barrier is the questions mark on her. TEST THE LAW hasn’t produced a bad run yet having not missed the placings from 4 career starts and has good race experience, he only just missed last start when 2nd to a runner who looks to have really good potential.
Race 6
5- MR PICKWICK
1- PRINCE OF HELENA
10- FLOW METER
Looks a really good chance for MR PICKWICK to make it 3 in a row here. He stormed home to win over the 1800m last start so the rise in distance looks like it will really suit, especially with the inside barrier, he should find a soft run and have plenty in the tank late, loves a soft track and gets that here. PRINCE OF HELENA was a winner here in SA last start, he won that easily and steps up in grade now. He will have to carry 1kg more than the last start and has some work to do from the wide barrier but does rate well. Throwing veteran runner FLOW METER in for his 200th start. Might be a bit sentimental, but he is a proven war horse who will give his all and could rise to the occasional to pull a place out in this.

2- KEEP READING (BEST OF DAY)
5- ANGEL LIKE
3- CALLA DREAM
Feel like the only question mark on KEEP READING here today is the wide barrier. He is really well graded and hasn’t yet missed a placing from 6 career starts. The resuming run was impressive and he should take improvement out of that. Super consistent, if he can get across from the barrier without much trouble expect him the be hard to beat. ANGEL LIKE resumes here after a nice trial win. 2nd when resuming 1st up last time behind a horse who is in the market today in R1. Light at the weights and represents good EW value. CALLA DREAM draws for a soft run from barrier 1. She won over this track/distance 2 starts back and hasn’t missed the placings in her 3 starts this prep.
Race 8
6- DEEVINE
2- LITCHFIELD COUNTY
13- CLAMARC
DEEVINE was impressive winning an easier race last start but by a huge 7L margin. He clearly likes it on a rain affected track which he should get here and was previously won 2nd up. The apprentice claim will help him as well as an expected soft run on speed. This is a big step down in grade for LITCHFIELD COUNTY, but he will have to carry a huge weight due to his rating, even after an apprentice claim the weight is still a lot. If he can carry the weight, he may have too much class for most of these. CLAMARC produced a pair of good runs in his 1st prep and resumes here after a trial win and he has had early market support which is promising. Drawing the wide barrier doesn’t do him any favours and he will need some luck.
Race 9
1- MOREAN
10- BARBALINE
3- NIGHT HUSSLER
Victorian visitor MOREAN has been very consistent in her 6 start career having only missed the placings once. She showed huge heart enduring a wide run to place in her last start at Geelong. She gets a softer barrier here so should get an easier run and expect the Victorian form will stack up in this field. BARBALINE produced a well overdue win in her last start, expect her to be on the speed from the inside barrier and is in strong recent form. If they are running on here today, the one who may be perfectly set up will be NIGHT HUSSLER. She draws wide, but likes to get back so that isn’t a concern. It’s not easy to win at the parks from the back, but if the go too hard, she gets a perfect run.
