This race looks at the mercy of short price fave THE NEPHEW, who has been competing in stronger staying races recently when in Victoria and this is a step down today. The Payne stable have their stayers rock hard fit at this time of year and he looks very hard to beat. GOLIOTUS come back down in grade after running an ok race at Moonee Valley last start. He may get run of the race from the front of the pack but also may want a heavy track as 5 of his 7 career wins have been on the heavy. THE GOOD FIGHT placed in a similar race to this 2 starts back and wouldn’t surprise to run into the placings at good value.

Lightly raced mare WITHOUT ENVY looks to have some good talent and resumes here today having looked to have had some issues in her last start. She maps well here and has been trialling well, if she can produce a run like she did in her debut, she should be able to tick this one off. BRAVEMAN’SGAME looks the obvious danger, he was backed strongly on debut last weekend and only got done close to the line, he back up quickly here but looks a type that won’t be far away from a win in a city maiden. CARARADA looks the best bet of runners with exposed form, she resumes here today, and did strong together a few placings in metro level maidens last prep.
Race 3

OATH OF OMERTA is 2nd up here today and up in trip all looks suitable. He has won 2/4 when 2nd up and runs well at this track, should be an improver today and his form in previous preps is a class above so he should be hard to beat if he can find that level. METRO LEGEND went across the border to Moonee Valley last weekend and was made to work in what was a brave effort in the end. He backs up here today in a race that looks much easier than last weekend. He has had a good prep and maps to control this race out in front. REGAL AMAZON is 3rd up now today, has won 2/2 3rd up races through his career so hit this race with ideal fitness under his belt. He will get right back in the run so will need the tempo to be hot early to set him up, but should find the luck in a small field.
Race 4

Putting RICH GINA on top here based on her probably being the best horse in this race, but on the parks track she can be a bit of a risk if she gets too far back in running. She has been 2nd 2/2 times when over this track/trip previously and generally runs well when 1st up (3:1-2-0), she also comes into this off a sharp trial against some good types, if the track is playing evenly she looks a chance but if the pattern is favouring leaders today, need to be wary. KEEP READING beat a handy field last start at Murray Bridge in good fashion and now looks to be at his peak fitness. He led the field up when winning last start, if he can find that position again here today he should be in it for a long way. HOME RULE rates well in this field and generally puts himself in strong positions so maps well here. If we get a heavy track after some rain, his chances only go right up.

RUN LIKE HELL hasn’t done a lot wrong so far in her career. She has won 2/3 and the only race she didn’t win she was 2nd in a photo finish. She gets up to a 1250m trip today which looks suitable given the way she hit the line last start. She looks a progressive enough type to win at this level. DEMANDO was the horse that defeated RUN LIKE HELL last time so does look a capable type, he maps well again from barrier for, but will meet RUN LIKE HELL 2kgs worse at the weights and up to the 1250m may play into her hands more. OUR SHINING STAR was 2nd in a handy enough field last time out, her best form is good enough but she could be a risk here on the parks track as she is expected to go back in the field and may need some luck.
Race 6
2- CHICAGO STORM (BEST OF DAY) 🥇
8- ICE SYMPHONY 🥉
7- COOL MAGNUM 🥈
CHICAGO STORM had a super prep last time in work and resumes here today. He has a lot in his favour as he usually performs well when fresh (3:1-2-0) as well as runs well here on the parks (5:2-2-1), he is drawn low which should help him get a good run and Sheridan Tomlinson takes 3kgs off his back and they have previously worked well together. Looks set to fire fresh. ICE SYMPHONY should find this easier than the race he contested last time now dropping from listed level back to benchmark grade. Despite his finishing position he wasn’t all that far away from the winner. He is 3rd up and fitter now, expect he gets a good on speed run. COOL MAGNUM maps as your likely leader and ran a close 2nd last time, a wet track is going to really shit him if we see heavy rain arrive.
Race 7
5- WHATSANAMEGEORGE ❌
1- KALIUWAA FALLS ❌
3- OCEANOGRAPHY ❌
WHATSANAMEGEORGE looks to have an ideal race map in a race that lacks a lot of early speed. He produced a big run from barrier 12 last start to only go down by a nose length. Today from barrier 7, he should really have to do no work to find a position just behind the leaders as majority of the horses in this are a bit slow early. If WHATSANAMEGEORGE can get a soft run, he may just be able to run away with this in the straight. KALIUWAA FALLS looks to have the strongest form lines around him from his recent efforts in Victoria. Rising in trip today is a good positive for him but the risk is how the race maps and if he gets shuffled back too far. OCEANOGRAPHY hasn’t yet found his better form this prep, but rising up to a 1550m trip may help him find his best again and now fitter 4th up.
Race 8

This is for mine, the trickiest race of the day. It is a very open race so not one I am super keen to bet into. LONRODEX has run 2nd in both runs this prep behind in form horses. Those form lines of his are very handy and he is obviously running well. The wide barrier isn’t ideal for him which is the negative but we are getting a decent place price for him. CHOSEN BLONDE is another at an EW price that could run a good race. This is her favourite track and she goes well at this track/trip (9:3-2-1). And expect AUDREY GRACE to go close, she is only lightly raced but her Victorian form is in good races, only knock is that wide barrier.
Race 9
3- TEXAN WINDSTORM (EW/VALUE OF DAY) ❌
5- STORM HUNTER ❌

EW play of the day TEXAN WINDSTORM should get a perfect run for him drawn the rails and with good early speed. He should be in this race a long way at the good odds. He has won twice here over this track/trip and was 3rd behind some handy types last start when he wasn’t suited. This track suits his pattern a lot better. STORM HUNTER was is super form before his last run when he pulled up with an issue after being a well backed fave. Prior to the issue he was being very consistent and that form goes close here. Race map is a bit sticky but he has proven to be adaptable and settling midfield shouldn’t hurt his chances much. HEADPHONES has won 2 of her last 3 runs. She goes well at this 1400m trip, she might need luck from a middle barrier, but speed around her isn’t the fastest.
