The 2 faves in this, MERRY MAC BOY & ALPHA FLIGHT definitely look like the keys and a good quinella chance. Keener to be with ALPHA FLIGHT from a value point of view, he won here well last start, knows the track and is proven on a heavy. MERRY MAC BOY may be a good type going forward, but at the price just want to see him again coming onto the grass after a synthetic win. He looks the likely leader. SUPER SHARP did some good things in his 1st prep when winning a maiden before a spell. Will likely get back and be running on so of the leaders go too hard it will set him up nicely.

2- GOLDEN CRUSADER (BEST OF DAY)

6- EXALTED RUTH

Victorian visitor GOLDEN CRUSADER comes across in good form and looks extremely well suited here to continue that. He is a last start winner at Sandown, loves a wet track so conditions will suit and he likes to push forwards and lead, so will be in an ideal position on this Parks track. AEECEE DOLCE profiles similar to the fave given she has been in good recent form and goes well on the heavy, she should give a good account of herself, but will be back in the run and may need luck. EXALTED RUTH was pushed in a fast run race here 2 weeks ago where she held on for 2nd and gapping the 3rd. She goes well over this track/distance and recent form has been good.

3- GALACTIC ROCK

Tough maiden level race this one, thinking today is the best chance COURAGEOUS HEARTS has had in a while, 13 starts with no wins yet but has ran into a lot of good runners recently. Has early market support which is encouraging. RICHANA was finishing off well when placed on debut, looked to handle a heavy track so don’t think conditions will bother her. Coming back in trip is the only question mark. GALACTIC ROCK placed when on debut for a new stable, stable has had a good recent record when horses come to their stable so watch for an improved showing.

2- BIG MAN AT NIGHT

8- COMMODITY

11- PARISIENNE MONDE

BIG MAN AT NIGHT put his rivals away on debut in an impressive display. There wasn’t much public trial form leading into that, so from what we have seen only on track, he looks a good type. He maps really well here to be tough to chase down. Expect him to lead from barrier 6 and control the race. COMMODITY is another Victorian visitor here today, comes from a smart stable and fought on well to win his maiden last start. Expect he will have the early speed to push up with BIG MAN AT NIGHT, but coming from the wider barrier, he potentially gets stuck out wide in the run. PARISIENNE MONDE resumes and looks like she will go back from the wide barrier and I’m expecting that if the speed it on, she could swoop on them late.

10- PRINCESS RAFFLES

Really open race, and a tough one to sort the speed map out for. Making a case to put NOTTARIS on top at decent value, he was placed when on debut for the stable and expect he will strip fitter for that run. Key for him here is barrier 2, it gives him a chance to push forwards without spending a lot and be in a strong position. NANA DULCE was an impressive winner here in a mid-week meeting recently, he ran them off their legs that day, this is tougher, but a repeat performance would be good enough to see him win this. PRINCESS RAFFLES showed what she could be capable of when she placed in a much tougher race 2 starts back, since then she hasn’t found that form and may need some luck here coming from the back of the field, but capable if she turns up.

5- ZIGGI ROCKS

SHORT STORIES will drop in grade and rise in trip for this today. He looks a type capable of getting out to this 1600m trip they way he has been coming home over the 1200m. Watch for him to be finishing this off strongly, he beat home the inform Kong 2 starts back. TURFITT has been 3rd and 4th in very similar races in her past 2 starts. Drawn barrier 1 and will come in light at weights after the apprentice claim, if she can use the barrier and push forwards, she will be in a strong position. ZIGGI ROCKS won a very similar race to this 2 back and then found them too sharp when up in grade last weekend. His recent form in this grade has been good with a pair of 3rds and a win.

Race 7

2- WHIPCRACKER WAY (EW/VALUE OF DAY)

5- TITANS

1- SPANISH HEIRLOOM

He hasn’t won for a while, but think WHIPCRACKER WAY is massive overs in this race. This is a race that looks much easier than the recent starts he has had back in Victorian Saturday grade metro races. The conditions suit and even without a recent win, the form around him is strong. TITANS resumes here today, he has a super 1st up record (3:2-0-1). He will look to lead but does have work to do from the wide barrier with speed drawn in the inside of him which could make it tough. SPANISH HEIRLOOM led them up and was run over last weekend in a tougher race than this. He drops in grade now into an easier race and has a super record over this track/distance. Expect him to lead again and if he can handle the heavy weight he will be tough to catch.

Race 8

5- RUN AND TELL

9- MY KHALIFA

1- THE STAGER

This looks to be the toughest race of the day for mine, very open field with the current fave at $4.80. RUN AND TELL found form again here last start when making a mess of rivals with a strong front running performance. This is a step up in grade now, but he is drawn again to get the soft run up on speed, so expect him to take it up and be the one they need to catch again. MY KHALIFA was an impressive winner 2 starts back and then placed last weekend up in grade. He backs up here and is back down in grade. Light in the weights after the apprentice claim, he may need luck running on late but with a strong expected tempo, he might get his chance. THE STAGER should improve off his 1st up run now dropping in grade for this. He has good 2nd up form and looks like he should appreciate coming off the synthetic surface.

Race 9

10- AGREEABLE

2- DALASAN

11- SO SAY ANGEL

AGREEABLE found some bad luck last start at Group 3 level but once she found room, she hit the line hard. Rising here to the 1400m is really going to suit. The stable seem to have an opinion that she could be anything at this level if she can find her best, expecting an improved effort here today. DALASAN at his best, can push a Group 1 level field so he is definitely capable here. He is the class runner of the field, but the only knock I have on him here today is the wide barrier. There is genuine speed under him so he needs to be at his best. SO SAY ANGEL has been in super form and deserves a chance to step up in level here. Gets ideal track conditions here and is drawn to get the ideal run. Based on his recent form there seems no reason that he can’t figure in this.

Race 10

13- ENCHANTINGLY

2- HE’S EXCLUSIVE

14- SOMEWATT FABULOUS

This is another really open race with a messy race map to sort out. ENCHANTINGLY is the current race fave and looks to get all of the favours here today. He gets ideal track conditions and has won here previously. He is drawn inside so potentially can utilise that and push forwards while majority of the potential leaders are drawn wide. HE’S EXCLUSIVE resumes here today. At his best he should be too good for this field, but he will be challenged by a heavy weight and a wide barrier. If he is sharp early, he should land in the ideal position here. SOMEWATT FABULOUS will appreciate rising in trip today after finishing off really strongly last start at Murray Bridge. She has strong form lines from her last prep and with the right run she could be one at a price that is capable.
