5- DIXIE WHISTLER

2- SILENT COMMAND

DIXIE WHISTLER’s form over staying trips has been good this prep. She stuck on well for 2nd in a similar type race last start showing she can handle the 2500m. Willing to forgive the run prior where she didn’t look too appreciate the heavy surface, better conditions here and light at the weights. MISS GOBCAIN is the current short price fave for this. Her last 2 runs have been good, she may have the extra class over some others in this field but having not seen her over 2500m before, leans me to prefer to take her on at the shorts. SILENT COMMAND will find his ideal track conditions here, he is a proven stayer and suggest he will push forwards to lead and give himself every chance.

1- ANOTHER PONZI

6- PEARL ADIOS

Leaning towards race experience being the key in this and SGHIRRIPA is resuming coming out of a pair of handy races where he was placed in both. Won a trial leading into this and think his experience gives him an edge. Need to respect the Jolly stable when they have a debut runner in ANOTHER PONZI. Their record with 1st starters lately has been super. He has showed good signs at trials so expecting he will ready to go here. PEARL ADIOS was doing good work at trial level prior to his debut races, he has drawn a good barrier here to get a super run and may be the one they need to chase down.

7- ELSA’S PRIDE

9- EXTREMELY DISCREET

4- MAGIC PHANTOM

ELSA’S PRIDE is stepping up in grade after winning her debut in good fashion. She is drawn well and should push forward to lead and control the race, she looks a progressive type and expect she will go well in this grade. EXTREMELY DISCREET resumes here, she found form in strong races after she won her maiden last prep. This is easier than where she finished her last prep and she trialled well prior to resuming. MAGIC PHANTOM can be inconsistent and do a lot wrong in races, but he seems to really pin the ears back in the straight and he does his best work at a big track such as Murray Bridge and here on the main Morphettville track.

8- SO BENE

2- TRUMPSTA

7- TAKE ME NORTH

This a tough looking staying race. So going to play SO BENE at some better value. Have mapped this race to be run at a super hot tempo, potentially that will perfectly set up SO BENE to run over the top of them late, especially considering she comes in very light at the weight. TRUMPSTA has been consistent at the provincial level and comes back to city grade. He was super when winning his last start at Morphettville Parks, he took the race up midway and ran away with it. How he won that was impressive but he is dropping in distance, that’s the question mark but he will take up the lead so the 1800m may suit. TAKE ME NORTH is another who has good recent form and drops back in grade now, gets good weight relief so may be one of the ones who takes catching.

6- UNLACED

5- IMPOSSIBLE ACTION

2- MELODY MAN

UNLACED is proven at this grade and at her best when over this 1600m trip (12:4-1-0). She has been in good form recently running 2nd in her past 3 starts and the 1st 2 runs were behind some runners in serious form. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION was a surprise winner at decent odds last start. That race on paper, rated stronger than this and now he goes up to the 1600m where he has had previous success. MELODY MAN is the current race fave. He is rising grade after a last start win and has won 2 of his previous 3 over the 1600m. Question mark here today is the wide barrier and the extra weight.

4- NONAME LANE (EW/VALUE OF DAY)

9- GREAT DIVINER

This is a good level race and making a case for NONAME LANE even though he isn’t over his ideal trip, from barrier 2 I’m expecting he will push forwards and take control of the race from the front. He was going well in stronger races recently, so if he can bring that form to a shorter race, he will take catching. Stable mate GREAT DIVINER was a winner in a similar race to this in his only run last prep. He didn’t figure up in weights last start on a heavy track, so expecting an improved showing here today now 2nd up. KEEP READING is dropping in grade from his recent start. Form prior to that was back to back 2nds from tough runs. He draws to get a better run here.

6- BELLAVARDO

5- SCENIC HOST

4- KUNGKA MARU

BELAVARDO resumes and had a very consistent last prep winning 1 and placing in 3 other starts. Expect she will be better when she gets out over more ground but she gets ideal conditions and this isn’t overly strong. SCENIC HOST was 2nd last time in a very similar race to this. She draws a good barrier again and gets a chance to produce a similar type performance. KUNGKA MARU was a beaten fave last start after having plenty in the tank but not finding a run, this is a step up in grade but she has won at this level before.

Race 8

4- THE BIG KAHUNA

5- ZIGGI ROCKS

10- TURFITT

THE BIG KAHUNA is only lightly raced and has never missed the top 3 from his 3 career starts. He came home hard to run 2nd here last start and looks to appreciate this bigger track. Won when 2nd up last prep. ZIGGI ROCKS was scratched from a winnable race Wednesday to come here. He was a winner in a very similar race to this 3 starts back, wet track conditions will suit him. TURFITT has been close to a win recently in similar type races. He should get a good run from barrier 2 and sticking on late carrying the light weight after an apprentice claim.

2- VICTORY CLUB

1- RUN AND TELL

4- TWO TIMES TWICE

VICTORY CLUB has had all of his best career runs over this 1200m trip. He stuck on well for 2nd in his last start from a wide barrier. Draws inside here which should see him get a better run. RUN AND TELL will likely push forwards and try to take control of this race. He faded late when leading last start, dropping back to the 1200m may suit his current form better. TWO TIMES TWICE won’t mind being drawn the wider barrier as he will go back and be doing his best work late in the run. The main Morphettville track will give him the chance late.

Race 10

1- TAUNTING (BEST OF DAY)

12- HOPE AT HAND

9- AGRIMONY

TAUNTING is most peoples best bet here at the track today and have to agree. The stable have been patient with him as he rises through grades and he was an impressive winner last start at Murray Bridge after missing the kick to then run on and win well. He will get a good run from barrier 1 here today. HOPE AT HAND had a good 1st campaign competing well at strong 2yo level races where he was competitive in them all and they look strong form lines. AGRIMONY was competitive in a much stronger race 2 starts back at Flemington. That race was over the 1000m and his worst form recently has been at 1200m, coming back to 1050m today may be a key to help him find his best again.
