MELODY MAN is rising in grade here today, but he is definitely at his best when he gets out to a staying trip so think he can handle the rise in competition at this 2037m trip. CLASSY JOE comes back down in grade after good runs in both the Balaklava and Benella Cups. He goes well here at the track and is a proven stayer so will see out the trip, only query is how he will go with the extra weight vs this field. SILENT COMMAND has looked close to a win over recent runs at staying trips. Expecting he will take up the lead and give himself every chance from a strong position.

3- WICKED ADDICTION

Expecting some good improvement from THE MAP here today now she is 2nd up. She is getting on to the main track and rising in distance which gives her a much better chance than the 1st up run. She showed last prep that at her best she has the extra class over this field. Expect to see veteran runner FRANCE’S BOY to lead this field up and give a sight. His runs 3 & 4 back were a win and a 2nd up in class. Capable in this grade. WICKED ADDICTION has been 3rd in both his runs since coming down from Darwin. The 1600m is his pet trip with a record of (4:2-0-1) so he is well suited here but needs luck early from the wide barrier.

14- SWEET MARLENE

Very open maiden level race. Going with the debutant COLD CASE on top. His recent trial was impressive and he has drawn a soft barrier to potentially find a soft run. The stable have a super impressive record with debutants, so he will be here race ready. DECLARED resumes here from a small let up after being a well supported fave last start and finishing 3rd. He has been well supported in his past 2 runs so a win here at odds wouldn’t surprise. SWEET MARLENE is another runner who is here on debut. She won a recent trial and comes from a smart stable.

3- WAY TO GO PAULA

1- DEEVINE

6- LONRODEX

Tough betting race this one, find it hard to play around WAY TO GO PAULA who comes across here from Victoria bringing some strong recent form in her past 2 starts. They were stronger races, but it is a query that all 4 runs were on a synthetic surface. She should have the extra class vs this field to see her get past them though. DEEVINE was 2nd here last start. He has recent winning form back at provincial level at different tracks. He has a poor winning record here but the last start 2nd was encouraging enough to believe he looks close to a win. LONRODEX is at bigger odds but has drawn an inside barrier and maps to get a soft run here and be given every chance.

2- BIG STORY

4- PRINCE TIKEA

A scratching to a short price fave has opened this race right up today. MERCHANT BOSS was a deserved winner last start and won that day with a lot in hand. That win suggests he can go on with it here rising to the 1800m on how easy he won over the 1550m last start. He should take up the lead and take control of the race. BIG STORY is the other short price runner in the race. Won his maiden 1st up and then is coming down in grade off the back of a good 4th place in a stronger race. PRINCE TIKEA backs up quickly after winning his maiden on Monday. This is a step up in grade, but he has shown flashes of good talent and having now won, potentially it can click for him.

3- EXALTED FIRE

7- TURFITT

5- AFRICAN AWESOME

Another race that is tight at the top of the market with EXALTED FIRE & TURFITT both at the same favourite marking. Leaning towards EXALTED FIRE who has looked good since rising to the 1500m. The last start 2nd he was 0.1L of Yuri Royale who is in some serious form and if he runs up to that form he is a big chance. TURFITT is another who is in strong form and goes particularly well here at the track and over this trip. She has an impressive record over this track/trip (3:2-1-0) so expect she will be comfortable here and looks a big chance. AFRICAN AWESOME finds an easier race than, but he is coming back in trip which is a slight query. Has performed at this trip previously but may need luck.

Race 7

2- MANHATTEN TIMES (BEST OF THE DAY)

4- SIXBYSIXTYTHREE

11- SPARKUP

MANHATTEN TIMES is 2nd up this prep after competing at Group 1 level last prep. This is a lot easier and he looks very well placed in this. He loves this main track as it gives him good opportunity to run over the field, he rarely misses 2nd up and he is particularly super over this track/distance (6:2-1-2). If he finds the space in the straight, he should be hard to hold out. SIXBYSIXTYTHREE is in strong recent form having not missed the placings in 4 starts this prep and is a last start winner here at Morphettville. He should get a soft on speed run, and the apprentice claim will help late. Potentially could make it hard for the fave to real him in. SPARKUP has looked threatening late in all 3 starts this prep. If he finds the space late he is another who will be hard to hold out.

Race 8

14- SANDPIPER

4- SOMEWATT FABULOUS

1- WILD IMAGINATION

Probably the most open race of the day this one. SANDPIPER is lightly raced, coming into this 2nd up this prep after sticking on for 2nd 1st up. She gets a lot of favour in this race as she draws an inside barrier and will have a very light weight in comparison to majority of the field. SOMEWATT FABULOUS looks well suited coming back to the 1200m and on the main track here. She presented to win last start but faded late, that suggests she is better off at the 1200m. The wide draw isn’t a concern, she will look for cover and be doing her best work late. WILD IMAGINATION should find this easier than what she was competing against in her last prep. She has good early speed, should lob in a commanding position and if she is strong late will take some catching.

Race 9

7- HOWL

14- AITCH TWO OH

4- SPIN THE REWARD

HOWL finally got a breakthrough win last start after navigating through some trouble and then running over the top of them all. He is super here on the main Morphettville track and particularly over this trip (4:3-0-0). Mapping this race to have a fair bit of early speed so think it is going to set up perfectly for him. AITCH TWO OH resumes here and has only ever won when fresh (2:2-0-0). He has an impressive career record so far and has some really good upside, but feel he is probably under the odds having his first look at a race outside 2yo company. SPIN THE REWARD is another resuming runner. He won a trial leading into this race and has an impressive record here over the track/trip.

Race 10

11- RICH GINA

1- IM A LEGEND

4- AESTHETTE

This is a tough race to finish off todays card. It has potential to be mess. RICH GINA was 2nd in her last start, she should find this race easier than the last start and will be fitter 2nd up now. Think she has the most upside of any of these runners but the wider barrier is a query. IM A LEGEND is a last start winner in this grade and rates highly. Does have to carry extra weight due to his rating and has a wide barrier to contend with as well but he is consistent and his best is good enough. AESTHETTE resumes after having faded in her 1st up run in Australia. She has been given more time since and could be a big improver today.
