R2/5- ALPINE FLYER

A very open race but ALPINE FLYER is in super form having won her past 2 and she has proven to be an adaptable type which will suit here today. There will be a hot tempo with potentially 3/4 runners all vying for the lead. She has generally been known to go back in the running but last start she pushed more forwards from a good barrier and that was a winning move. I’m expecting she will be positive again and be able to sit just off the hot tempo from barrier 1 and look to run over the top of them late.

R5/2- ICE SYMPHONY (EW/VALUE OF DAY)

Looks well placed in this race today dropping down in grade from his first 3 runs this prep. He was 2L off the handy CHICAGO STORM last start only getting run down late. He maps very similar here today and should be up on the speed again from barrier 1. He will push forwards and be the leader up on the rails. If the track is playing similar to how it was last weekend, he should be in this for a long way.

R7/6- COOL MAGNUM

Looks over due for a win now given he has run 2nd in his last 3 starts and his last 2 both over this same track/trip. This is a slight drop in grade as well which should, he come down from a BM76 to a 70 now. He maps nicely again from barrier 4, he should likely sit just outside the leader and with a 3kg claim off his back he should again be around the mark.

R8/1- ALPHA FLIGHT (BEST OF DAY)

He has showed a lot of good signs earlier in his career but was pretty disappointing last prep when he resumed earlier in the year. I’m giving him another chance based on the fact he finds himself in a BM64 here, which is the easiest race he has seen in 12 months and I liked what he produced 1st up, he was wide and had to work hard for position, but stuck on ok. His 2nd up form is very good (3:2-0-0), if he can re-find his best efforts, he looks well placed in a race like this.
