Conditions - Soft

Wednesday Bets Bets

R4/3- MUNTHAM MISSILE (EW/VALUE OF DAY)

  • Will concede that this trip is probably too short for her, but the conditions really favour her here and at time of writing there was still 8 runners in the field which makes her that EW play. She is a proven 1st up performer and she is at her best when there is a wet surface so with the forecast conditions and the fact she has drawn well, think she can run well here fresh, but still expect her to be at her best over more ground.

R6/1- GOLIOTUS (BEST)

  • Like GOLIOTUS here today on his home deck and in wet conditions. It’s an expected soft track but it will be a bigger advantage for him if the rain settles in and the track gets to a heavy as he does his best work on them. He draws an inside barrier here as well so should be given every chance up on the speed here.

R8/5- RECREANT

  • Won on his debut when was extremely well supported. That was in wet conditions similar to what he will face today as well. Next start he was 3rd but was making up ground, so rising in distance here and don’t think the wider barrier will concern him as he will probably go back and get a run late as there looks like the race will have a fast tempo which should set up the back markers.

R1/3- DASHING

  • Liked what he produced in his debut run in what was on paper a stronger race than this. He was only 0.3L off the winner who has had success at Saturday grade level as well. Looked to handle the heavy better than some so don’t expect him to have a problem here on it today either.

R6/5- FOTURI

  • Comes back to the 1200m where I feel he is at his best. Has a good record over the trip (3:1-1-1) and is also a consistent type overall. Has seen a heavy surface which may also prove to be an advantage, finishing 2nd on his only start on the heavy.
