Murray Bridge, Saturday 17/6

Conditions - Soft

Race 1

1- TURF DECISION

6- ALOTAFUN

2- PEGASI

TURF DECISION looks the runner of this group with the most upside going forwards. He has won 4 of his 7 career starts and kicked off this prep with a nice win at Naracoorte. The last start run was forgivable as he found some trouble but looks well suited on the wide track. ALOTAFUN was met with strong market support in her last run. She does need to improve off that 6th placing, but we know she is capable to go well after her dominant win 3 starts back. PEGASI debuts for his new stable, his recent trial suggests he will be up to this level and he looks well placed with Todd Pannell.

Race 2

3- HOWL

2- KEEP READING

6- THE MAGISTRATE

Very open race at the top this one, HOWL is a last start winner who looks well placed here on the bigger track. He has run here previously but not for any success. The last start win was impressive against a similar type field. KEEP READING is a consistent horse who has been competing against what on paper look like stronger fields in his past few runs. Expecting he will race up on the speed and is fit now so may take some catching. THE MAGISTRATE maps as the race leader throughout the run. He is at the lighter end of the weights and has a good record here at this track, if he is given a soft run of it up on the speed, expect he will be hard to catch.

Race 3

3- PUDDING

2- OH MO

4- CASHIN CHEX

PUDDING looks hard to beat in this race but is a very short price now which is the risk. He has raced here on this track only one time and was a strong winner, more recently his form has been super, he beat a very similar field to this by and easing 3.3L last start and wont gain much weight after that. If unchallenged early, they will find it hard to catch him. OH MO has placed in both of his past 2 runs, one here at Murray Bridge before he went up in trip and this 1600m looks the ideal trip for him. CASHIN CHEX was slightly disappointing last start when he came up against PUDDING. The tempo was slow which didnt help his cause but the apprentice goes on today which will bring him into carrying only 51.5kg so expect he will be coming hard late.

Race 4

3- BRISTLER

4- MIDNIGHT RUSH

7- MISLUDI

Hard to look past BRISTER after the way he won his last start at Morphettville. Based on that run where he was a 2.5L winner, he should be hard to catch and especially given he will get a good run from barrier 3. MIDNIGHT RUSH resumes today, he was scratched from a race last weekend potentially due to the ugly barrier he had drawn. Looks much better placed today and has won 1st up in his previous prep, he will be tracking the leader and looks the upset chance with a good run. MISLUDI was met with support when winning on debut at Balaklava, She should be competitive in this race based on that debut performance.

Race 5

3- BLANDFORD LAD

5- WOLF PRINCE

2- SMILING ASSASSIN

A tricky little staying race here but have settled on the jumping visitor BLANFORD LAD. He will come into this 2500m staying trip very fit given he has been competing in some strong level jumps races in his past 3 starts, we have seen recently with the likes of TEOFILO STAR & TRUE MARVEL that some of these runners can put in a peak run coming away from the jumps and back onto the flat. Fitness wont be an issue so expect he fights out the finish. WOLF PRINCE was making some good ground up late last weekend when he chased home DIXIE WHISTLER, the rise up to the 2500m today should suit him based on that run. Cant not include SMILING ASSASSIN here at Murray Bridge over this track/trip.he goes well here on this track and especially over the 2500m.

Race 6

9- GARRIRE

6- DAWNBURST

8- RED ROOF

The recent form around GARRIRE has been very good, he was 2nd last run on a heavy track at Gawler where he potentially didnt appreciate the wet track and prior to that was 3rd behind ANOTHER PONZI & RUN AND TELL who have both gone on to run very well this week and frank that form. GARRIRE has raced over this track/distance one time previously where he was a winner. He maps well from barrier 4 and looks the one to beat. DAWNBURST wasnt far away from the winners here last time out and it was a good run considering he was potentially caught on the inferior ground close to the rails. She looks better placed here today from the wide barrier and with Todd Pannell on top, she should be better suited from barrier 10 and given the ability to find the middle of the track. RED ROOF has won 3 of her last 5 runs and that winning form shouldnt be discounted.

Race 7

5- LEGLESS LADY (BEST OF DAY)

4- SILVER ON RED

7- JACKS ON ICE

LEGLESS LADY has been competing well without having found a win this prep, but looks to have found the right race for here here today. She is on the 1 week back up and the only other time she has backed up in her career she was a winner. Her record over this track/distance is good and she is a 4th up winner. Her recent form in stronger races suggests that she will be hard to stop here and sh has been met with early market support which is encouraging. SILVER ON RED usually runs a good race but can be a small risk given she likes to get back in the field and run on. This is a track that does suit here with that run pattern, she has a 7:2-2-1 record at this track and the rise to the 1200m looks suitable for her. JACKS ON ICE has won 2 of his past 3 starts, if he can navigate the tricky wide barrier and cross the field, he should again be around the mark late.

Race 8

8- MY RUBY

2- SEA WITNESS

5- JIMMYS EDGE

MY RUBY has previously gone well here on this track having won 2 of 3 runs at Murray Bridge previously. She was 3rd last start in a stronger race back at Morphettville. She is drawn well to find the best part of the track so expect she will be competitive here today. SEA WITNESS looks to be one of the runners who will be gunning for the lead and should be every chance to find that position form barrier 3 today. He drops in grade today after running well last start so should find this easier and if he doesnt get caught in a speed battler he should be well suited. JIMMY’S EDGE looks close to a win given he has placed in 5 of his last 6 starts and has jumped as fave in his past couple. He doesnt have to improve much to be competitive at this level.
