Have a lot of time for this talented mare and feel she gets an ideal set up here today 3rd up and now out to a staying trip. She hit the line nicely 2nd up behind the inform CHICAGO STORM over the 1400m, and the rise in trip now to the 2000m looks perfect. She is also well placed in this benchmark grade. Last prep saw her competitive at Listed and Group level. If she gets even luck from the inside barrier, she goes close.

R8/1- SASKATOON (VALUE OF DAY)

A runner that looks over the odds to my eye. He was very consistent last prep up in stronger grades including wins up in grades above this and solid runs at Listed level. Expect he will improve 2nd up today, going up in trip slightly and with some extra fitness. He will find this easier than the Listed race he resumed in and even with the heavy weight, Im expecting he goes close and represents EW value currently.

R9/2- LORD VLADIVOSTOCK

Lord Vladivostock tackles The Murray Bridge Cup for the 3rd time today, he was 3rd in 2021 & 2nd in 2022. The timing of his prep looks super, he is 2nd up here today, 1st up, he completely made a mess of a BM82 field that included the inform CHICAGO STORM. More impressively, he showed a sharp turn of foot with 63kgs on his back. He has since had a tick over trial and I’m expecting the timing here for this prep is perfect. If he runs a race like the 1st up run and shows a similar turn of foot to what he did on the parks track, he will be hard to beat.

R10/10- WINE BARRON (BEST OF DAY)

Was a horror watch 1st up after she was very strongly supported in markets. She was slow away and found herself in an awkward position in the running and has then ended up missing by about half a length. Drawn in barrier 3 today and a senior jockey hops on. Expecting that she will be able to improve from that 1st up run and if she is clean away at the jump and then more prominent in running, she should get the job down. Michael Hickmott is going really well this season and here on his home track, he can have a big day.
