REVIEW

Conditions - SOFT6 Downgraded to a SOFT7 after RACE2

Race 1

OVERVIEW

Winner comes KALASEC from 2nd position in running, VINTAGE STAR couldn’t settle and is a run away leader early putting in a fast tempo, 2nd & 3rd runners make up ground late.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

KALASEC- The form behind HEURISTIC stacked up. He won well, looks a type who can get though the grades.

WALK LIKE AN ANGEL- Good debut run but met a smart looking one, Jumped as fave after getting backed. The form from this race should stake up and he wasnt far away.

PROVEN CORRECT- Made up huge ground late and nearly pinched it. Up to 1200m?

HOT OFF- Made up good ground late and had a 2nd wind.

SIOUX WARRIOR- Made up good ground late and had a 2nd wind.

VINTAGE STAR- Held on ok considering he didnt really settle at all, green on debut, has a win if he can settle early.

REGAL DANCER- Just a follow, the stable had 3 runners and their main jockey has chosen to ride this horse, there must be something here.

Race 2

OVERVIEW

!st & 2nd runners both settle about midfield but are wide in the running, they put a huge gap on the rest of the field. Ground made up and leaders fade.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

WALLY WEST- Jumps as a short price fave again (3 starts in a row) and only misses by 0.2L. He will win a race soon but dont want to be taking short prices on him. again. Cant make a caught wide excuse as winner was wider

FANCIFY- Was strong late, had no real trial form prior to this race so snuck under the radar. 1400m next?

DELCREDERE- Slow out again and went to the rail, 2 horror shows in a row getting caught on the rail. Look for him drawn wider where he will get some space.

SPURIER- Was very green and didnt run well at all but should be improved having had that 1st day at the races.

Race 3

OVERVIEW

Hot tempo put into the race winner SMILING ASSASSIN settles about last and starts to make a wider run at about the 500-600m mark. Out grinds the field, leaders fade and DIXIE WHISTLER who is 2nd looks the best finisher of runners who settles better than midfield.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

SMILING ASSASSIN- Surprised he backed up but he definitely outstayed them all in a pretty strong field. Like him at 2500m+

DIXIE WHISTLER- Settled closer to midfield due to the early tempo. He only misses by less than 0.5L was a strong run.

CANFORD- Grinded it out up at the 2500m suits next in something easier maybe.

CALL ME VEXATIOUS- Went with the early leader and stuck on well despites running at the front of the field

CORAGGIO- Surprised to see him here, he could have been competitive at home on Sunday. Stuck on in a strong field, look for him to drop in grade next but stay a trip.

VERIMLI- Not sure if you can keep trusting him, hard to settle needs a senior jock.

Race 4

OVERVIEW

Winner SANTELMO FUEGO settles 4th and gets a good run in the 1 Out 1 Back, He takes over halfway down the straight and never really looks in trouble. The runners 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th all make up ground after settling last. Leader RITRATTO packs up in the straight.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

SANTELMO FUEGO- Has won 2 in a row now, This was potentially a peak performance, he has won reasonably easy.

LORD OF DARKNESS- Has run 2 2nds in a row now and this was a decent climb in level. Look for him to go back to provincial and be competitive.

WHISKEY N WOMEN- Makes up probably the most ground late, was running with mouth open and all so impressive considering he wasnt settling. In good form, follow at this trip.

MOTELL- Made up good ground late after settling 2nd last, got too far back again.

EAGLELOU- Wide barrier early didnt help, he is caught out wide trying to find a position midfield but takes medicine and settles dead last. Then looks for run through field for luck. Can improve with better run and luck.

Race 5

OVERVIEW

Leader wins the race which is slightly against the pattern. Once in the straight he heads out to better going likely lanes 4 or 5. The 2nd horse makes up good ground from last position and horse 3rd tracks the leader throughout the race but stays in lane 3 on what may be inferior ground which has cost it the race potentially.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

KLABEL- Impressive winner, its hard to lead them up and win at this track. The G2 form line is staking up. Hard to beat in something similar at Parks. Was in the best part of the track.

NOBLE MAGNATE- Did a lot wrong in the run but made up the most ground late once he got going, good improvement to come at a similar level.

HOPE AT HAND- Looked to have every chance, the G2 form line will stack up. Had a chance and got clear but maybe found trouble in the pack and then went to inferior ground, can follow if prep continues

CHARLESFORT- This was a decent step up in grade and he has been made to do extra work from a wide position but he work home strongly. Look for in easier grade.

DUNMAGHLAS- Forgive run, was pulled up out of the race. Parks track ideal.

Race 6

OVERVIEW

Winner comes from about midfield and barrier 2. Gets a good run into the race and the short price fave folds up. Rail has started to go off and runners looking for middle of the track, winner comes from about lane 5.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

PICARGO- Not a big surprise to see win even though he drifted, Got a good run, look for him to come back in something similar. 2nd up form is good.

WILD IMAGINATION- Big 1st up run, had to move out for running space in the straight and still nearly runs over the top of the winner at a big price. Should improve 2nd up.

OH MO- Was a good improver 2nd up, follow 3rd up and going up in trip now

EXTRA MILE- Take the inside run and sticks on pretty good. This is up in grade.

KEEP READING- Goes hard up front with the short price fave who is handy, but does tire late, he looks a win this prep maybe parks track. Also had to deal with a wide barrier

PONTEDERA- Looked to be in a handy position in running but was one paced late which was a surprise given the light weight and soft run.

Race 7

OVERVIEW

Not a lot to take out of this race, the winner settles back, and then find the best part of the track and wins well. Very good win but there isnt much happening behind him.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

SECOND TO NUN- Very good win, perfect run and position. Probably the only one to really follow through grades. Avoid at parks track probably.

IMPORTANT PRODUCT- Big odds and finishes off pretty well, look for in easier race.

SCRIPTA- Big odds and finishes off pretty well, look for in easier race.

KENYAN WONDER- Big odds and finishes off pretty well, look for in easier race.

Race 8

OVERVIEW

Winner jumps from a wide barrier and crosses to lead (chute). Sits off rail and is in around lane 3 in the straight, too strong and ride was timed perfectly. 3rd & 4th make up big ground late but are way too wide through the turn and arent even in the picture until late.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

THE GOV- Big run up on the speed, held on well and hsnt recently. Follow

CLASSY KENNY- Looks due, probably had every chance but all bar the winner is the best run. See where he goes but he is due.

WINNING REVOLUTION- Step up in grade and runs above expected. Wide on the turn and makes up huge ground.

SILVER ON RED- Way to wide coming around the turn and had too much to do

ALOTAFUN- Backed off the map late, Is a bit green in the straight and grinds away, one to follow and look for a senior jockey.

CELSIUS STAR- Might be done, thought that might be the case and he drifts out late and performs as such. Likely the end of his prep maybe?

Race 9

OVERVIEW

Winner is tough, has a wide barrier and crosses to settle outside leader, fights on late to hold out well supported fave. Runners are again making good ground up late from wider lanes.

RUNNERS OF NOTE

SOLAR BLAST- Super tough run from the wide barrier and holding off fave.

PLATINUM WOLF- Not sure what to do, had the market support and looked to have every chance in the run. Maybe a forgive in a similar race but need a better price.

LOMAX- Makes up rapid ground late again

SCENIC HOST- Looks the runner who gets the least amount of luck in the straight. May head to something easier next which will boost him

FOOTLIGHTS- Keep an eye on, jockey chance may help
