Conditions - Sandown (Soft) Mt Gambier (Soft)

R1/8- HYPOTHETICAL

Expect her to improve out of the debut performance, she was only caught late and that was on a heavy track. Fitter now and on a better surface. Will be the one they need to run down.

R4/3- DANAUSTAR

Likes to race on speed, and maps to find that run without much trouble. The on speed run can be an advantage on the Lakeside track, so if he gets given the leading run softly he should be hard to catch. He won in this grade last start so will carry more weight today but is proven in these soft conditions as his 3 best career performances were all on a soft track.

R5/8- COPPERFIELD (BEST)

Looks to have some big upside and good future while still working through the grades. Hasn’t missed the quinella in his 4 starts this prep so is also in good form. Defiantly showed last start that he prefers the 1400m and can run in wet conditions. Race looks like it will have a hit speed early, so if he can find a position behind the leaders early, he may be well set up to run them down late.

R1/1- LOWANNA MAGIC (BEST)

Was only 0.5L off the winner in his last start 5th and that was in a higher grade. His best has seen him finish 4th in a listed race at Flemington 12 months ago. The improved fitness now deeper into the prep should see him improve here, only question mark is how wet the track is.

R5/4- FAST ‘N’ FORWARD

Has a good home track advantage, she goes well here with a record of 4:2-1-0. All the wins have come recently, so she is in good form. Rising in distance today for the first time but we have t seen anything to suggest she won’t handle it. Will appreciate the expected wet conditions.

R6/7- LADY ANNABEL (EW/VALUE)

Another runner who may have a home track advantage here today, has never missed the placings form 5 starts here and 3:1-2-0 over the track/distance. Is drawn well, so she should find a soft run in behind the leaders and currently we can get a good EW price of $7.50/$2.15.
