R2/6- SISTERHOOD
Resumes for her 2nd career prep here today after a successful 1st prep. She had 3 runs and didn’t miss the top 3 in that first prep. Strong form came out of her last run here at Sandown where she was 3rd behind CASTE & JENNILALA who both went on to win Group races during the Adelaide Carnival. She is drawn in barrier 1 here, that should see her get a good run close to the speed.
R5/1- NORTHERN BARRAGE (BEST OF DAY)
Resumes today and clearly rates as the best horse in this race. He is placed at listed level and has contested a Group 1. Others in this field are rising from BM58 level or coming out of heavyweight races. So NORTHERN BARRAGE is clearly the highest rated horse in this race. The query is if he is ready to go 1st up and if he will improve over more ground, but he has won 1st up over the 1400m previously.
R8/6- KAYGEEBEE (EW/VALUE OF DAY)
Was definitely disappointing 1st up at The Valley where he was well supported in the market, but he had excuses off the back of that run (Throat Issue), so he can be forgiven for that effort. So expect he can improve, he is rising up to the 1200m trip here today and does have a good record over the trip (3:2-0-0). Again, he had excuses last time and looks well placed in this grade. I feel he is over the odds and represents a good EW play.
